Laur,
Today is March 31st. 2 years ago today we closed on our first home. It was a very exciting and anxious time. We had adopted a puppy a few months before, were in the process of planning a wedding that was 2 months away, and I was in what we had hoped would be my last semester of school (womp womp). I guess I figured life would slow down after that particular season, but it sure hasn't! Anyway, we closed on the Northside Nest and I moved in. We had a 1600+ sq ft house and only my hand-me-down bed and some nasty old couch from the 50's to put in it. That couch was eventually replaced with a futon (better??...) and later on with something we actually liked! It's funny how much stuff people accumulate because in only 2 years, it seems like every room is full. So much that we're already planning on what we'll keep and what we'll get rid of when we move (always planning....). 2 years after closing, we aren't 100% satisfied with our home, but who is? It's not in the nicest neighborhood, some of the renovations that were done aren't up to Holmes standards, it's a hundred years old so it costs a months pay to heat, but it's my home. It's the home we started our new life in. We don't plan on being there for too long, but I'll miss it when we leave. It will always be a part of the foundation of our marriage (to me atleast!). After an annoying day at work, it was where I came to be with my bride. Happy 2 years in the Northside, I'll miss it when it's gone.
